Larry the Llama gets the sack

Lawrence (Larry) the Llama is moving to a new home after being retired from being the guard llama at Ty Mawr due to bad behaviour.

A spokesperson for Ty Mawr said “He has been a really good guard for the sheep for the past 5 years but for unknown reasons has recently started chasing and biting the sheep causing some serious injuries to them.

“We have consulted the vet and llama experts and have tried a number of options to try to change his behaviour but unfortunately nothing has worked. Therefore we have decided that for the sake of the sheep and Larry’s welfare it is best if he goes to live with other llamas (and no sheep!)

“He is going to live on a farm with very knowledgeable owners where he can have the company of other llamas and will be able to go trekking in the hills. We will all miss Larry but think he will be very happy in his new home.

“We do hope to have another llama at Ty Mawr soon”
